GP3 & V2 question

by ssra » Mon, 24 Jul 2000 04:00:00

Has anyone been able to get Gp3 running on a V2 (sli a plus), after
changing all the options I could think of (even in the cards.txt) it
still comes up unsopported.. Rather bad considering that my primary
happens to be a cheap ATI 8mb rage IIc.
I would like a chance to see if this thing runs before shelling out
$50 with no return policies.

I cannot get GP3 running hardware acceleration on a Voodoo 2 (non-SLI). All
I can select is software rendering. My Voodoo card appears in the drop down
list, but I can't select it.

I'm using a Voodoo 2 (and a Celeron 466) and it's fine. But it seems to run
just as quick in software mode...

But the graphics are better with V2?
And which V2 card do you have, and could you please tell me what's in
your cards.txt and gconfig.txt files?

I have a Creative Labs Voodoo2 running the latests refernece drivers. I
removed the Creative drivers trying to get this working. I don't have a
cards.txt and this is what's in my gconfig.txt:

;gp3 generated file - do not edit

[Software 3d] good 1 2560 3 4864
[S3 Inc. Trio3D/2X] unavailable 0 0 0 0
[Voodoo2 3D Accelerator] unavailable 0 0 0 0

Huh? Voodoo2 unavailable? Weird...
Anyway, I run the latest reference drivers too, no luck...

I have Creative Voodoo2 12mb and it runs fine. Here are my two txt
files -

[general]

[3D Blaster PCI]

[Voodoo2 DX7 Beta 1.0]

and

;gp3 generated file - do not edit

[Software 3d] good 1 5376 3 8192
[3D Blaster PCI] unavailable 0 0 0 0
[Voodoo2 DX7 Beta 1.0] good 0 3584 2 4352

I'm using the latest 3dfx drivers and DX7a.
