after installing the v2 patch a week ago, i was embarrassed to find i
couldn't complete a lap without crashing / spinning off all the time.

i had enabled throttle assistance (low) then and still found it to be
very difficult to drive the cars.  admittedly i didn't have any great
setups, but I was extremely frustrated.

since installing the 2.1 patch, it suddenly seems a lot easier.   i
don't think its practise or anything as I haven't played it since.  i
followed the readme and disabled tyre wear and lowered the damage
threshhold, but I'm sure that can't be the reason.

was version 2 really harder to drive then 2.1?  I have only driven the
360 and GT3 in V2 and the 550,  GT3 and lister in 2.1 so far.  I don't
get much time to race these days, so I haven't had time to
comprehensively compare all cars.

Same hear - and I LOVED V1 of the mod - and to date still havnt enjoyed V2.

well,

i'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth.  thanks again for all
the hard work and dedication.  i have to get up at 5:15 am each day.
typically i have been going to bed at 10pm.  lately come 11pm i'm
still playing.  2 nights this week i went to be after midnight.
bleary eyed, but with a stupid grin on the face half the day.

   recently scared the daylights outta my DTM touring car league as I
cataloged the various reasons I wasn't getting enough practice in for the
upcomming event.  Needless to say trying to hang onto the Big V10 in the
Viper at Spa was a major culprit.
