probably because they realized the same thing I did over the
weekend....the sim SUCKS!!!!!
I've never played a more frustrating sim in my life.....when you cant
even go around a corner at 40 mph without the rear end coming loose on
you.....then your sim has serious problems........serious!!!

Poor G, You must realize that GPL is far superior to any other pc sim in terms of
it's driving physics model. This of course means it is much more difficult than
other sims. Me for example, I can run N2 at 105-110 % and come through the pack to
win but GPL is still after 8 months a ***. It took me several weeks before I
could get around the track with any speed at all and now turn very competitive
times. I stopped driving N2, GP2, etc long ago, they are simply not as satisfying
in the reward for good driving. You should keep driving GPL for a few weeks then
pronounce your decision. I for one am bummed that N3 is so far off in the future.

Once again, its not necessarily the physics of the sim, but its the cars
that are a *** to drive.  Sure, some of its the more detailed physics
model that requires a bit more skill, but those cars even in a N2 physics
engine would still be a pain to drive.

A good company will never rely on the internet for patching their
products later on.

It's the age old debate as to whether computer games should be
released when they're finished, or in time for Christmas?

I say, would you accept to see the new Star Wars film if they told you
they were going to cut it half way, and that you would have to come
back in a few months time to see the rest of it?

Are you speaking of GPL?

Stick with Daytona USA and Ultimate Race Pro if you can't handle GPL.

I really must agree.

Until GPL, Nascar Racing 2 felt to me like the most brilliant of
simulators available. Everything about it felt 'right', at the time.
Since GPL however, Nascar Racing 2 seems less like a true simulator
and more like an arcade game, in that it can not give me the same
trills it used to.

GPL was released around 7 or 8 months ago [right?], but still wipes
the floor with even the newest competition.

The GPL engine not being used for N3 is a grave disapointment, but
it's perfectly understandable why they can not use it.

guys...guys...guys....all i am saying is this...no car ever made......no
car.....behaves like the ones do in GPL...it's a simple law of
physics.....*** on asphalt at 40 mph does not lose grip .......no
tire I KNOW of does that.....that's what i'm griping about.....and no
matter how soft or how hard or whatever combination of settings I try
and fool around with....the same thing happens.....spinout at 40
mph...and not even my foot on the throttle....now you guys show me where
in the heck on this god's green earth you can find me a car...ANY
CAR...that behaves like that???
you wont...end of story....

Ahhh but there's the rub...  We could probably find guys who could
warp the 3do shapes into Winston Cup cars, but they would still drive
like 67 F1 machines.  While Papy is very supportive of graphic
patches that extend gameplay and sales of it's products...it gets
rather testy when folks try to alter the code.  Thus, while the Touring Cars
in the TPTCC patch,  look smaller and sleeker, they are still saddled with
a 4 speed gearbox and rear wheel drive.  Getting Papy to agree to let
someone change the basic #'s in GPL to approximate a WC car would
probably be fruitless.
