The R8500 seems to be a slightly quicker than the R9000, neither are DX9
cards and unlike the 9500/9700 cards, it's based on the same core as the
R8500, guess it comes down to price, I've yet to see a comparison
between the two while using FSAA and Aniso filtering though
A 9500 or 9700 card running at 4x AGP will be significantly faster than
a R9000, so if you can afford the extra money, the R9500 PRO is a better
buy, the R9000 is a DX8 card supposed to compete with the GF4MX cards,
the jury is still out as far as 8x AGP is concerned and just how much
extra speed it will buy you
