I have a computer with something similar going on to the old problems of
"video distortion" on screen.....when using the wrong (bad) drivers for the
old SB Live sound cards. I'm not sure that this current video problem is
because of that, but since this system is new but has an older SB Live, 5.1
X-gamer sound card, I thought it would be worth investigating.
The video anomaly, is vertical banding, usually two band just either side of
screen center, that oscillate with the sound variation of tone and volume.
It's worse with a V-8 engine than a V-4.....and that is what makes me think
it's a sound card driver problem.
However, I can't remember the cure for this. Can anyone help....or does
anyone have this problem currently? It happens in both Papy sims and ISI
(N2K3 and F1C).
I have a second computer system that is nearly identical......but does not
do this. So, it's a perplexing problem. I'd appreciate any tech feedback
from you guys that you can think of.
Regards,
Tom
