Only 47 days left for Papyrus to meet their deadline. Think they'll

Well that's the nice thing about such a vague deadline, isn't it? It's
malleable.

The only information that has been released is that the patch will be
released in early 98. Then we had the thread on what that meant.  So I
quess that the real answer is that it will be here when Papyrus
decides it's time to release it.

It should be mentioned that it's not papyrus deadline; voodoo, or
whoever makes the 3dfx chipset is doing the patch.

Then again, I could be wrong.

From what I had heard, the people at 3dfx are done with their part of the
coding.
Papyrus now has the patch and is probably tweeking it for NROS.

That's exactly the beauty of a vague deadline - if Papyrus had given a
precise one they'd be copping all kinds of ***now.

Cheers!

On the other hand, if you want that maleable deadline, it's really not
too bright to promise an "exact date" and then fail to deliver.

Exactement, that's why I'm glad they didn't make the mistake of
offering an exact date (or are you implying they did?).

Incidentally, what is a "male"able date anyway? Sounds like a night
out with a cross-dressing tran***! :-)

Cheers!

Yea, but I thought we all agreed that early 98 means 1st quarter. That
means they only have until the end of March to get it out the door.

They promised to deliver an exact date in their press release, then
wussed out with "early 98". Here's the letter:

David --

Thanks a lot for your message. I can see that 3dfx and Papyrus haven't
been sending out clear messages about the port.

It's coming soon!! On Monday, December 22, I will make an announcement
as to the exact date the NASCAR Racing 2/3dfx port is due.

Nope. In my opinion it means January, anything beyond that cannot
reasonably be defined as "early 98". After all, if they MEANT "first
quarter" why not just SAY "first quarter"? Because they knew they'd
get char-broiled if they had said that last Dec. 22nd, that's why, and
they wanted to IMPLY it was coming out sooner than that without
actually promising anything.

It's already 2 weeks overdue, IMHO.
