Unless an actual release date was advised, it is impossible for it to be
"overdue".

PS - Anyway, if semantics are the game I should point out that Erica's
message mentioned she would announce the exact date the patch "is
due", not "will be released". ;-)
Aren't you dead yet? Rumor has it your doctor gave you until early '98
at best..........

Keep in mind that the 'exact date' promise was given by someone who, as
it turns out, had no authority to make such a statement.

By the way, anyone remember the release date for that release date?
Maybe Papyrus doesn't want to release the release date until its
ready... I'd rather wait a bit longer to get an accurate release date
than have them release the release date early and then have to release a
revised release date later...

Not to mention that what was posted to this group (with the "exact
date" clause) was a private e-mail from a Papyrus employee, not a
sanctioned release from Papyrus.
As always, posting private e-mail publicly is an exercise in bad
taste, but because it's so easy to do, and apparently so hard for
people to resist the temptation to get their name on a "scoop" it
still happens...

As long as we are reminiscing, I remember a time when there was no such
thing as a patch to begin with, it wasn't even that long ago. What you got
was what you were stuck with, like it or not. Games were usually working
correctly the first time out.
