LOL, that's great, I like it :-)  I do hope that you're giving
yourself a suitably hard time about the "exact date" that you
estimated so badly?!  Posting complaining messages about yourself and
agreeing with others who comment on your lack of perspicacity when it
comes to estimating the intangibles of software development?

I'll look forward to your complaints when GP3 doesn't arrive on
whatever notional schedule you've dreamed up in the absence of any
comment from GC - he's obviously leaving it open to interpretation for
whoever wants to.

Cheers!

Isn't that the beautiful thing, N2 actually _is_ working correctly,
and the "patch" is actually an unpromised free upgrade to further
enhance the product in response to customer request.

Still get moaned at, but that seems to be the way of things. I'm sure
when it's released "_____________ will suck" (insert one of key flame
button words here).

Cheers!

John, I rarely disagree with your posts, but you this time you seem
to have short memory. N2 is indeed working correctly ... after a couple
of patches. And the patch that made an unplayable game to a playable
one was released approx. 6 months after the original release, IMO
6 months overdue ...

Just to be clear, I was reposting a public post from the 3Dfx news

Nor will your attempts to spin-doctor their broken promise accomplish
anything towards that. Give it a rest.

I'm not surprised. ;-)

As soon as there is a promise that is broken I'll be right there with
you - until that time, who else is going to keep you right? ;-)

Hi All,

GOD I hope this patch is worth all the whining and crying that's been
going on for the last few months !!! It would be a shame if it doesn't
set the sim world on it's collective ears !!

Thanks,
(Waiting Patiently for GPL)

No....the patch that made the game into a *SAVEABLE* game was released
then.
Not everyone had the "lurching" problem and we therefore quite happy to
run with the original game.  I was one of the lucky ones.
The "save" patch merely enhanced the game....it alone did not 'fix'
anything.

"Early 98" does not equal "exact date".

If I looked to newsgroups to be kept right, I'd be in serious trouble
don't you think!

YOU people who want a release date for this patch GET A LIFE It is just
a game. I love n2 as much as the next guy but i dont *** about all the
time. PAPY is doing all it can to get it out as soon as they can. So
stop all the ***ing and wait for it. I'm sure it will be worth it.

No, but I don't recall that "early 98" being prefaced by "I do
solemnly promise you that...".

Yes, I would have doubts about anyone relying upon these for their
recommended daily intake of facts!

Hi Hena,

We obviously have very different definitions of "unplayable". I found
ICR2 to be unplayable since the yellow flag and drifiting traction
problems ruined most races. N2 however I found to be very playable on
release. Sure it had problems (otherwise why patch it!?) but nothing
to make it unplayable.

Cheers!
