Papyrus - What's the story with the N2 3dfx patch?

by Jo » Tue, 09 Dec 1997 04:00:00

According to 3DFX, Papyrus has requested that  3dfx stop talking about
the patch, that all information about it should now be gotton from
Papy directly.

So Papyrus, what's the story? Is it done? When will it be available
for download?

Okay folks, we've been pummeled with email from people regarding this
issue, with some even saying that they are working on web pages
devoted to (!) this "turnaround", and how Papyrus is "treating its
customers". In an effort to quiet the *** theories and crazy
rumors, allow me to state a few facts, once and for all:

1. A 3dfx port of NASCAR 2 is being worked on, and will be released
soon. "Soon" is as specific as I'm going to get at this time. We will
make an announcement by way of press release very soon.

2. It'll be put online to be downloaded for free. You won't have to
buy it in an add-on or future product to get it.

3. We requested of 3dfx that information about this patch gets
released through coordinated efforts with our PR department only, so
that we could better form a cohesive strategy for spreading the word
about it. We simply wanted all the info coming from one source, so
that no one received slightly different reports about release dates,
etc. No big deal.

That's all there is to it, really. We'll make an official announcement
when we're ready to.

thanks,

Steve Travers

Thanks, Steven, but do you really think you can quell the ***
theories spouting from r.a.s.?!  Haven't you realized by now that you
aren't dealing with a bunch of amateurs here, they are professionals!

With that said, thanks for keeping us posted.  Why anyone "needs" to
create rumors or a *** about the simple statement made by 3DFX, I
don't know.  I guess too many people are just bored and have nothing
better to do.
