yes, this is very much for real. there are posts up from the guys at
3dfx.
it is using GLIDE not D3D, so it is going to be great im sure!!!
postings at 3dfx.game.upcoming or 3dfx.game.requests

I prefer to play N2 in DOS. It's much faster on my P200MMX
i have a p200 (classic) with a 4mb millenium and yes, dos is much faster.
GLIDE is going to be great!!! (even if it just smooths out the graphics
and better distance view, ill be happy either way!!)

what do you mean nothing is official. 3dfx has said them selves that it will be

Nothing's official 'til the code is done, and the patch is released.

And 3dFX own _what_ part of NASCAR2? Nothing at all. I very much doubt
that 3dFX can make any decision on a 3dFX patch, so until you hear
from Papyrus themselves what will happen about a 3dFX patch, what
features it will have, what products it will support (NROS etc) then I
wouldn't be getting too worked up.
Like I said, it ain't official.
Cheers!
John
you sure are opionionated (if thats how you spell it) arent you :)

btw: 3dfx said they have the go ahead from papy.
Maybe Mr. Eric Busch could find out for us, since he has friend working at Papyrus.

Actually I am quite opinionated, but this is not an opinion, it's a
fact. The last I heard there was NO go ahead given from Papyrus to
3dFX, which was about three days ago. Unless you know it has changed
since then, it looks like we're both opinionated.
I can't imagine that Papyrus would decide not to release the 3dFX
version, but be aware it's not certain yet. Keep sending Papyrus and
3dFX your Christmas wish lists and ask them both nicely for 3dFX
NASCAR2.
Cheers!
John
Well, even if they didn't get the go-ahead, they are doing it, and they said
it will be here by Christmas, so even if the don't have Papy's permissions,
it's being worked on.

you know it!!!
I can't imagine that either - I can only just barely imagine the size
of the s#&$-storm coming down if 3dfx finishes the patch and Papyrus
chooses not to release it.
