My thanks goes to all the people at Papy, who write all the nice utilities,
people supporting othe players (espeically newbies like me) through their
excellent web sites and USENET.

My million thanks!

Happy racing Xmas!

Griffin.

Yes THANK YOU to everyone involved in the making of GPL

My life has changed significantly and for the better since GPL... infact
everything revolves around my next GPL fix!!!

If only hours of use counted for more than number of copies sold ... surely
then GPL would be know as one of the most popular games of all time.

In particular thanks for the nurburgring (my spiritual home) and for these
400bhp / gripless beasts.

To emphasise how amazing GPL really is I think this sums it up:

I considering the unthinkable .... a year without competiting in any real
life motor racing (money) since GPL is more than enough to fill the void.

How many other sims leave you feeling as scared as the real thing?

Thanks again

Marc

Thanks Edwin, after bumping into almost daily when the Apex was hot I haven't
seen you in a while.
Are you ever racing at WinVROC?  btw, what happened to Dave Mansell?
Take care, John Moore

Salute to Papy team and ALL GPL community, who dedicated their time and
skill to allow us to enjoy the best racing experience today.

Financially maybe not success, but owning the best sim engine gives Papy
bright future. What about making modern F1 sim and allow user to adjusting
sim level (lower level gives just more grip), adjusting AI speed, car setup
wizard or guide(teaching and helping people in making car setups)...
There is no way that sim/game filling all this requirements (from gamers to
hard core sim fans) wouldn't be success. And what is the most important -
90% is here, in GPL. I don't have doubts that something like that will
happened, and that all of us will enjoy many good sims from Papy. Nobody
will throw away masterpiece like GPL engine, because they didn't make a big
money in first attempt.

Maybe GPL community can do something and help GPL selling better. My
experience tells me that whoever tried GPL at my home was amazed by realism
of sim and many of them bought a copy. Also, I always try to tell them all I
know about sim (history background, level of realism involved in racing, car
setups, intelligence of AI cars, tracks (Nurburgring, Monaco...), online
racing...).

Should be a kind of a mission for all GPL fans. Doing that we will make a
sim world better, we will help real quality products like GPL and help
people realizing that and enjoying in them.

Missed the original post but am right on track with everyone here. Thanks to
all! What a great game you have produced and enhanced. I know Troy does
quite a bit in Australia to make online racing a reality for many. Aside
from that, I know there are many, many people involved in our beloved
pastime, but I really have to take my hat off to Alison and Larry.

Oh yeah, and that Kaemmer guy...  :-)

Absolutely 100% agreed with all the good comments on here.  After
spending most of my *** life learning physics, computer simulation
and the mathematics of dynamical systems this is the only game I've
ever played which has taught me things I didn't know about the dynamics
of a race car.  Brilliant job by all at Papyrus....  if only I were
better at driving the *** :-)

Hi John... loong time no see!

Yes I still do race everynow and then on WinVroc, but I've also been
devoting a lot of time and effort into the IGPLC online league recently.
Wish I had more time to race, but then again.. "pick-up races" on WinVroc
can't really be compare to the joyful and clean league races we've had
sofar... I guess I've grown tired of being 'punted off the track at the
start of races.

As for Dave.... I have not seen him in a loong time....

Take care as well John and I hope to see you on WinVroc sometime soon.

Oh and, need I say anything about GPL? Thanks to the people who made it,
race it, and continue developing it.....never knew I would meet up with nice
people from (for instance) Spain to drool at a Lotus 49! :-D
