i second your thoughts john.

without the hard work of those people(they know who they are) GPL might have
vanished to the big bargin bin<G>
but GPL lives and will live for along time as the best pure sim out there.

I wholeheartedly agree with John,

My sincere thanks to all the Papy people who had the great vision to create
GPL and make so terrific and who have stuck with it (and for having the guts
to give us the Nurburgring).

Also many thanks to the folks who have spent lots and lots of hours
and sweat working hard to give us things like VROC, GSB, Brands Hatch,
soundpacks, graphics packs, GSGirl, GPLDump and all the other hundreds of
utilities and fan websites that have made GPL such a success despite what
all those game reviewers and marketing guys think. GPL is by far my most
favorite sim ever, and it has also formed a terrific online racing community
of very generous and friendly people.

THANK YOU!

Seeyas on the track.

I echo John's thanks to all who made GPL as marvelous as it is. It was my
first driving sim, and I was hooked from the day I bought it for my brother
for his birthday! After a year of pretty intense (my girlfriend my call it
something else!) practice at GPL, I am still amazed at the quality and
depth. It is so far beyond any of the other "games" I have dabbled with, it
really belongs in it's own category.

With 1.2, GPL Spy Boy, the various track and car tweaks, GPL Dump, sounds,
etc., GPL on-line racing still fascinates me a year later.

Thanks to all!

I must say GPL is so good it's taken the shine off every other car racing
sim I've played.       Congratulations to all involved.

Let's just hope the next Indycar sim is based on the GPL engine.

Although I cant play (drive) this sim as often as I wish anymore, I felt I
should show my gratitude to the people behind the best sim to date.  This
effort to make the best sim possible can be easily seen by the quality, not
quantity, of people who have followed it for over a year now, involved in
the making of support programs (GPLSPy Boy, WinVROC, etc), track
convertions, graphic and sounds enhancements, etc, not to mention all the
excellent leagues that this sim has inspired (GMSS, GPLWS, you name it).
Thanks to all involved for your effort and keep up the excellent work.

When I read about GPL the first time (a short preview) I didn't expect
much from it, I thought that it would be just another arcade game with
the '67 setting just as a gimmick. The preview didn't mention anything
about the driving model.
A couple of weeks later I bought a mag with the Watkins Glen demo on a
cd. I installed it but couldn't get it to run. Later it turned out
that lots of people had this problem.
Another couple of weeks later, I was in a shop, and GPL just came in.
I saw the package, and read about the driving model, and saw the
beautiful screenshots on the box. I bought it, without reading a
review or whatsoever about GPL. I installed it, played it, and was
amazed. Driving this car was... like real!

That was more than a year ago. Still playing it, even more fanatic
than ever. The better I become, the more fun GPL becomes.
Yesterday, I practiced the whole day at Monza, and comparing my
replays with GPLDump. Finally the 1.27 comes in sight. I can drive
every corner as fast as Woeger, the only thing I have to do now is to
drive all the corners as fast in the same lap :)

Thanks to all who keep the GPL scene alive. There are lots of people I
would like to mention by name, but I only mention the people who had
the most influence on me:

- Ricardo Nunnini: His GPL is the best. Period.
- Randy Cassidy: For realizing the force feedback patch, and all he
did for GPL. For ignoring all the whining about the 1.1 patch, and
coming up with the 1.2 patch.
- Alison Hine: For her devotion to online racing.
- Juha Kali.. Kali... Kalisomething: For making GPLDump
- Wolfgang Woeger: I spent hours and hours watching and comparing your
replays, and still your wild driving style amazes me
- GPLEA: for keeping the scene alive
- Jack Rambo: For making GPAL, GPL's best friend!!!! (only kidding
folks)
