GPL models trailing thottle characteristic better than any
other sim. You can learn real life vehicle behavior using GPL.
My heartfelt thanks to the makers.

In Jan '98, I purchased my computer
in Sept '99 i purchased an act labs force
and about 4 driving games / sims
nfs III
motorhead
F1 (ubisoft)

my life has changed   (for the better)
I rarely play the first three games
and am slowly working my way to VROC (hopefully in the spring)
about 50hrs on line learning, modifing, exploring, and in awe of the GPL
community

this is what i have always dreamed of doing....

i would like to thank
alison hine, tim wheatley, ricardo nunnuni, and all of the other excellent
GPL sites on the web

and a very large thank you to papyrus for this experience

ps. now about that sim engine... do the words CAN-AM  mean anything to you?
(please...please...please)

I agree totally with what john more stated. It is just a pithy that not more
people are buying it. This Sim is still a year after the release the best
there is.

Yes, thank you, and God bless you!  Through your work, "the few people
who have babied GPL along", you have brought a tremendous amount of joy
and inspiration for the relatively few of us that made what has truly
turned out to be a wise investment in buying GPL.  John said it very
well.

Since buying GPL I have bought many games in between, Falcon4, Baulder's
Gate, SimCity, Nascar3, BUT I always come back to GPL and everything
else collects dust. For someone who dreams of being a professional race
car driver there is no substitute to GPL, just as there are no
substitute to the people who make it the great SIM it is, the greatest!
I thank you all, my wife doesn't   :)

Mid 1998 I brought a Steering wheel to play GP2
November 1998 I purchased a copy of GPL
10 days later I purchased a new PC to make the most of GPL
Raced online soon after...
Downloaded GSB and made many new friends
Mid 1999 I uninstalled all other racing games
Brought another copy of GPL for a friend
Loaded v1.1
Mid 1999 Joined UKGPL league
Loaded v1.2
Late 1999 finished in the Top20 UK racers

I will never get the opportunity to realise my dream of being a racing
driver, but GPL has taken me virtually all the way there. I have put 1000's
of hours into this sim, (apologies to the Wife), and cannot wait for the
next season to start. I have spent much hard earned cash on upgrades and
online time, (still expensive in the UK), and believe it to be extremely
well spent. I foresee many many more hours of fun with GPL, and will be
buying copies for other friends for Xmas presents.

Therefore a big Thank You to all involved in the production of this sim, and
to all those that have provided me and many others with invaluable
applications, tireless support, and countless hours of fun. Our appreciation
is your reward.......

I absolutely agree, a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone involved. It's criminal that
Papy didn't benifit financially on GPL, as there's no question that a large
number of people in the rest of the computer industry have.  I recently bought
a new P3 550 which I wouldn't have if I wasn't so into GPL.
Check out the 1999 Australian Championship,

$10,000 in prize money, all run in hi buck Hypersimulators.  This game has
sold a lot of hardware.

Yes Thanks, Its very good BUT...... No only joking its good.
I just wish You would have had a log book like flight sim players get
then I could have seen how much of my life has gone down the tubes, but
at least I would have known how many miles I run at Monza and my
ferrari ***time. Also Is it possible for PAPY to refund money for
wearing out to destruction MY T2 ,GP500 wheel and pedals,Saitek R4
(the 4 is the about of days it lasted) and .5 of an MS sidwinder PP
race wheel.

<snip>

I add my thanks to everyone who created GPL and everyone who keeps it alive
and thriving.
It's a wonderful sim and a real joy to master the challenges it provides. It
was only after I got
into GPL that I truly appreciated what driving a racecar was all about (at
least from the
standpoint of car control and competition).

Also I tip my hat (helmet?) to the people that I have driven against online.
You're a class group
and a lot of fun to compete with. Here's to more of the same!

Thanks!

I have only ever driven and bought 5 driving sims 3 by papyrus definitely
the best.....
but dammed hard to master.
I really hope GPL  was successful enough to ensure new project funding......
