Arggg, i cant get F1 2001 to run!!!!

Hey guys, i bought F1 yesterday and i cant get the damm thing to run
properly. I tried installing it on both XP and 98SE but the furtherest
ive got is almost one lap in to a race. Here are my specs:

AMD 1.33
Epox 8K7A+
Prophet Geforce DDR
onboard audio

Ive tried the following detonator drivers 12.84, 21.83, 28.11, the
latest and quite a few in between. The game just keeps*** as soon
as i start a race? I also tried runnig NFSPU but that doesnt even load
it justs goes into dos mode and hangs also. One thing i noticed in 98
is that  the vid card is sharing an IRQ with another *4* things. That
cant be good but theres no way i can get the vid card on its on irq.

Any ideas, i basically f*cked up my entire system reinstalling 98 and
now nothing works lol.

Have you installed the updates?  Check http://www.racesimcentral.net/; On your installs/reinstalls, we those clean, over each other, on the same partition?  Sounds like you've got a mess on your system.  BTW - don't worry about the stacked IRQs when they occur in Windows XP.  That's something which the NT-line of OS does automatically.

true, but it's always problematic. If you want to try and change
interrupts, you can always swap PCI cards into different slots. And
try to avoid using PCI slot 1.

Also, you do have DX8.1 (on the win98 install)? Cos its required for
f1 2001.

And check the cooling on your vid card, it may be flaking under heat.
Any other 3d games work?
