Hi there,
It's just taken me all afternoon to get F1 2001 going.
The problem was a it was running at about 1 fps but turn off all the sound
and it ran Ok.
(BTW P3 1G, SB Live, Gforce 2 Ultra, Win ME).
The obvious choice was sound card drivers, No good
DirectX ? put V8.1 on, No good
Logitech Profiler back to version 4.00 (no end of probs with 4.1). No good
Replace video drivers 21.83 back to 12.41, success.
AFAIK the 21.83 drivers are certified release drivers, they are certainly
faster than 12.41 but I can't get them to work.

BTW what's the story with FF in this one? did F1 2000 CS have it?

Try editing the config.ini file and setting WindowedMode=1

Prob best to keep to th 12.41 drivers

FF is supposed to be coming out in an upcoming patch.

Yes don't bother with those, I don't know if anybody else has used either
version, I couldn't find 21.85 either.

When I (not the person answered above!) try this, I get the
infamous message
  "This program has performed an illegal operation and will
    be shut down".

I just wonder why?

1. F1 2001 demo at USGP wasn't F1 2001

2. F1 2001 - no hope of getting better textures and fps?!
