Yes. Use the cable adapter that came with your T2 when you connect it to
your computer. Run the jcu command from the nfsse directory and select
Thrustmaster T1/T2. Take the defaults in jcu, exit, run nfs and you
will be able to calibrate the T2.

OK. But...

After 2 hours of struggling I still can't get T2 to work with NFS-SE.

WIN95 version of NFS-SE:

I can't get the ***y wheel calibrated in the win95 joystick manager.
Any help here? It usually says: 'joystick not connected properly -
retry' or something like that.

(And jcu will hang my computer when run under win95.)

DOS version of NFS-SE:

After fiddling with the jcu I could get this far:

In the joystick calibrating screen I have two bars on the right side
of the screen. The left one I can 'control' with the pedals. gas makes
it go up and brake makes it go down.

By turning the wheel I can control the gear stick and make it go left
and right. OK thus far. I quess.

But what about the right bar? I don't have any control over it, should
I? I can't get it disappear by using the jcu. (But I can make both
bars dissappear without much effort, though.)

Then after that I should press any button to pass the calibration. But
none of the buttons in the wheel  work. No effect at all. So the only
way to pass that screen is to press ESC-button. I have all buttons
'on' in the jcu-settings.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After all this 'calibration' I have the wheel working but pedals and
buttons not.

Any help appreciated.

By using the defaults I can't get it calibrated (no bars on the
right). See my other message in this thread.

: WIN95 version of NFS-SE:

: I can't get the ***y wheel calibrated in the win95 joystick manager.
: Any help here? It usually says: 'joystick not connected properly -
: retry' or something like that.

In the joystick manager, select joystick 1 and "custom" for the brand.
Then select calibrate - move the wheel and the pedals only. select ok,
then Test - the wheels and pedal should move the cross hairs and then
shifter should light up the two lights. Press ok and then be sure to hit
"Apply"!

In NFS, calibrate the wheels and pedals. when the shift knob is in the
center, push the T2 shifter up or down. The two red buttons on the T2
won't work in NFS (I've never gotten them to work and don't know what I'd
use them for).

: DOS version of NFS-SE:

: After fiddling with the jcu I could get this far:

: In the joystick calibrating screen I have two bars on the right side
: of the screen. The left one I can 'control' with the pedals. gas makes
: it go up and brake makes it go down.

If you have two bars on the right that means you've enabled the 3rd and
4th buttons in the jcu T2 setup. They should be disabled. Then in NFS,
you won't see the two bars.

: Then after that I should press any button to pass the calibration. But
: none of the buttons in the wheel  work. No effect at all. So the only
: way to pass that screen is to press ESC-button. I have all buttons
: 'on' in the jcu-settings.

Same as with WIN95, after calibrating the wheels and pedals in NFS, shift
up or down with the T2 - that will "push any button" for NFS.

: After all this 'calibration' I have the wheel working but pedals and
: buttons not.

Be sure to re-run jcu and reset the T2 setup to the defaults. That will
disable the 3rd and 4th buttons.

: Any help appreciated.

good luck!

Yes, but you need an axis adapter to do so. Contact Thrustmaster and
they'll gladly send you a free one. Took about 4 days for mine to arrive.

Well well interesting. That might be the proplem. BTW what does an
axis adapter look like? And are you talkin about nfs-se here, not
original nfs?

Jari,

I concur with what Dan says above. I stress you will need the T2 adapter
from TM for this to work with NFS-SE. If you didn't get the adapter with
your T2 then you will have to contact TM for one FOC.

If you then still can't get it to work, I suggest you got to EA's W3
site and TM's (better) support site where both have excellent text
support files you can read, download (save) or printout for a step by
step reference as you set it up.

Whilst not exactly intuitive to do so in NFS-SE, once set up, the T2
works flawlessly in the game.

It seems this might be the proplem. What does an adaptor look like?

I can connect T2 to my joystick port (SB16) so the connector is OK.
The lead is actually divided into two parts already. The other part is
short and the wire from pedals goes to it. The other part longer and
it is attached to the wheel.

So do I have an adapter allready or not?

Thanks for the info.

No you don't have the adapter.  It is a short piece about 2 inches long
with one female and one male end.  The replacement I got from Thrustmaster
is black, but I seem to remember the one I lost as being white.

I bought my T2 about 2 months ago and the adapter was in the box. Maybe
yours is older? Either way, I think TM will send you a new adapter at no
charge.
