T2 settings for GP2, NFS-SE?

T2 settings for GP2, NFS-SE?

by Steve Ferguso » Thu, 10 Dec 1998 04:00:00

Hello all.  Sorry for the "old news" posting, but I finally dug my old T2
wheel out of storage to hook to my notebook via a PCMCIA game card.  It
hooks up and configures fine with GP2, ICR2 and NASCAR 1.  In fact, it is
verrry nice with ICR2 and NASCAR.. whole new games, and rather
spine- tingling.  Can someone recommend "good" parameters for the T2 with
GP2 (max lock, reduce with speed, low sensitivity zone).

Also, I can't get NFS-SE past the initial calibration screen.  I comes up
with the gearshifter, and two yellow bars, which I assume indicates the
two joysticks.  When I move the wheel, the shifter moves left to right.
When I push the gas and brake, only one of the yellow bars moves.
However, when I press the gear shift, or a button on the T2 to exit the
calibration, it does nothing, so I cannot calibrate the wheel.  Any ideas?
I am running this under DOS.

regards
Stephen

T2 settings for GP2, NFS-SE?

Max Lock :
I use 14 - 18, depending on the circuit. If you set it
too high, the front will start to be pushed over the
  wheels when steering full.
Reduce with Speed:
I've always used the default of 65% until recently. It's
now set to 70%, which makes the car a bit less twichy on
  the straights.
Low Sens. Zone:
I'm using it set to 5, which makes the car very responsive.
I've also tried it lower, but then it becomes pretty
  undrivable.
Setting LSZ to 100% makes the response very gentle. If you
don't want to use steering help, you can kind of simulate
steering help this way (you don't actually get help, but it
does make car handling a lot easier).

Hope this helps.

For NFS-SE, I also have problems with my T2.  If you have Windows, run the
game there.  If you don't, try running the jcu.exe program in the main
directory of the game.  I guess you could also do both (Windows and jcu).
Hope this helps
