NFS-SE: T2 Configuration Problem

by poo.. » Fri, 30 Aug 1996 04:00:00

I installed the DOS version on NFS-SE on my machine, everything was
fine.  It tried to configure my Thrustmaster T2, and it "saw" the
wheel, accelerator, and brake.  I cannot verify whether it saw the
shifter, and I was unable to "Push a button" to verify the command.
Neither of the two dash-mounted red buttons on my T2 yielded a
response.  I was forced to press 'ESC' to abort the process, and I
then entered into the game, returned to the "Configure Joystick" page
several times, yielding the same results.

I realized this morning that I may have not changed the options page
"Automatic/Manual Shifting" option to 'Shifting.'  If I did this and
THEN entered the "Joystick Configuration" screen, would the program
"see" the shifter and perhaps the dash buttons?  I can't think of any
other work-around.  Please e-mail me or post any suggestions.

Cheers,

NFS-SE: T2 Configuration Problem

I have the same problem. I just check EA's web page and it mentions an
adapter that comes with the T2. There's a diagram of the required cable
connections at http://www.ea.com/techsupp/t1diag.html.

Basically, plug the steering wheel into the pedal plug, plug the other
end of the pedal plug into the adapter, and then plug the adapter into
your computer. Now the buttons should work. I'm going to try this tonight
or tomorrow morning.

http://www.ea.com/techsupp/nfsset22.html explains the whole setup
procedure for the T2 and NFS SE.

Hope this helps.
