Hi,
I have just acquired a Thrustmaster T2.
Bear with me as I take a while getting through all
my questions/issues.
Q1. I have the T2 working in GP2 and Screamer.
To do this it seems I must *NOT* use the converter
supplied (converter that looks like a RS232 crossover
connector). This converter makes the T2 look like one joystick,
but the pedals have to appear as a second joystick to
Screamer and GP2.
This seems like a pain as some games will need the converter,
some won't ... what's the usual solution?
S2. NFS SE is a DirectX app I believe, and requires the
T2 set up with the converter. NFS SE also comes with a program
called jcu.exe (Joystick Config Utility) which explicitly
mentions the T2. However i can't seem to make it recognise
my T2 properly. I run jcu and it presumably squirrels away the
info somewhere. When I run NFS it wants to calibrate my T2
Even though this was already done in Win95.
Whats more it doesn't work! The calibration requires that
you move a joystick into 6 positions in 2 axes and I only
have one axis. Also it ignores the T2 buttons and gear lever.
In short this means you can't calibrate the joystick and
NFS only offers me keyboard controls.
What am I doing wrong?
Q3 I feel that I need to turn the steering wheel rather
a long way before the car actually moves.
This is in gp2 and Screamer.
I am using the game port on my Sound Blaster 32 PNP,
I have a P133.
is there any likelihood this lack of sensitivity is
attributable to the game port on the SB32?
I also have a Wingman Extreme. I intend to use this with
EF2000 for one.
I am wondering if a game card with 2 connectors will be
the best answer to all of this, or do I want a joystick switch
box and a game card?
Are there any FAQs for this newsgroup which cover this stuff?
Thanks in advance,
-Phil.
