NFS SE and T2

Did anyone manage to run Need For Speed Special Edition with a T2
wheel?
Without the T2 Win'95 adapter, I can't even go past the calibration
routine, I think because the game did not feel any change over the
Joy1 X-axis. With the said adapter the wheel calibrates fine, but
during the game I cannot accelerate. With the pedal on the floor I go
only to ~35 kph (or is it mph?), not even enough to switch to 2nd
gear.
The T2 works fine with GP2. Is it me or the game? Seems strange that a
game get published in 1996 and cannot work with a T2, so I guess it's
me; but I have tried everything I can think of.

T2 works great with everything I have providing you use the adaptor it
comes with when using Windows 95.
NFS SE, Indycar, Nascar, Whiplash, Monster Truck,.....

Actually, the adaptor must be used with NFS SE whether you're
running the Win95 version or not, as it does not recognize a second
joystick.

It did not work well for me until I changed the audio mode to mono,
8 bit.  To do that you will need to use the  tab key.  Once done,
however, your acceleration with the t2 adapter should work
normally.

That is what it took for me to successfully run it on an Ensoniq
Soundscape.  Unfortunately, Win95 chose a mode on the sound
card which was too processor heavy to handle other tasks
correctly (like reading from the joystick).

I had the same problem running NFS SE for the first time. Try running the
program "JCU.EXE" right after installing (that is, before you start the game
for the first time) NFS SE. It is designed to calibrate special input
devices such as the T2. If that is the problem you have, it should work fine
then.

Hope that helps.

I initially had similar problems, heres what may be wrong:
windows95 is configured for a conventional joystick.try removing NFSSE and
then use the joystick config. utility in win95 control panel. select
"custom" and select "race car controller"  2-axis 4-buttons then calibrate
and test as prompted.exit control panel and re-install the game. Good luck

The JCU.exe file initializes the T2.... But in control setup inside NFSSE
you have to choose joystick... JOY-LEFT/RIGHT .. JOY-UP/DOWN....and
JOY-BUT1/BUT2....Maybe that helps you...My T2 works great in the game....
But I use the DOS Install instead of the Win95 Install....but I do have
CUSTOM - Racecar Controler set as Joysitck 1 in Win95 Control
