To Papyrus, Dave Noonan, Phil Flack or whoever else builds tracks for
GPL--

Why not Reims?!  This circuit is probably the most
historically-important GPL-era track not included with the game, other
than Brands Hatch, and regularly competed with Spa for the honor of
being the fasted GP circuit.  A classic undulating road-racing circuit
essentially in the form of a big triangle, I wouldn't think it would
be be terribly difficult to lay out, and someone, somewhere, ought to
have resource material available.

Papy, if you're listening, let's have Reims!

And still more F1 tracks of 60's to the "hope list":

Indianapolis, US (1960, 30 May)
Porto, Portugal (1960, 14 August)
Riverside, US (1960, 20 Nov)
Aintree, GB (1961, 15 July, 1962 21 July)
East London, South Africa (1962, 29 Dec, 1965 Jan 1)
Zeltweg, Austria (1964, 23 Aug)
Clermont-Ferrand, France (1965, 27 June, 1969 6 July)
Jarama, Spain (1968, 12 May)
St Jovite, Canada (1968, 22 Sep)
Montjuich Park, Spain (1969, 4 May)

Some of these extremely interesting? What is the third wish after
Reims and Goodwood(?) ?  (Was Goodwood really used for F1 in 60's?)

Sebring (December12, 1959)

Ok so its a little before the 60s but wouldnt it be fun to drive the old course
in GPL?

In that case I'll want Pescara 18 Aug 1957! (The track was very long! Like
Nurburgring..., perhaps even longer?) Stirling Moss won, Fangio was
second, .... Yes, I want that track, ..., and those cars!
Please Papy/Sierra... :-)   When?

it is longest track even being raced by F1 cars: 15.894 miles (approx.
25.5 km), whereas the ring has been 14.189 miles (22.8 km) long. but the
track has two really long straights which could be quite boring - check
the track layout at:

Not particularly...........unless someone came up with a "body kit" to turn
the GPL 3.0 litre cars into the 1960 - 1965 1.5 litre cars, which could then
be raced at the F2 level so as to represent the lower power of these
smaller-engined vehicles.

Then we could really have Reims and the Monza banking!

I just want to fuel the fire a little bit, but why would it not be fun to race
the Monza banking with a 3.0 litre 1967 F1 car ? As long as Rouen is in the
game, historical accuracy is thrown out the window anyway.

Sod that! We want... make that demand :-) an editor. Don't care how much
hard work it is to use. Just give it to us.. now, and GPL will live
forever.

Or at least till GPL2 in 2027 ;-)

It's not "thrown out the window", Olav.  Bent a little, to be sure, but not
completely devastated.
Rouen _was_ raced on during the 3 litre era.......1968 was one I remember.
Reims, and the banked Monza track, were last used (by F1) during the 1.5
litre era.
Papyrus did advise us, even before the demo was released in April/May 1998,
that the Le Mans - Bugatti track was considered to be so featureless that
they would not include it, to which everybody ultimately said "thank you"!

It's a personal thing....I treat GPL as a historical sim because I
personally recall those years, races and drivers very well indeed.  I also
remember the latter years of the 1.5 litre formula therefore, for me, a "1.5
litre add-on pack" would be brilliant.

Bruce.

Ok, maybe I used a little bit harsh words :) What I was trying to point out is
that I really doesn't get the point why some people don't want tracks for GPL
that isn't 67'ish just because it isn't historic. And as long as I wasn't born
yet in 67 (7 years short) I look at GPL as a great sim with a history lesson
built in it :)

Oh, no problem my friend.  I'm just being a cranky old *** who wants
historical accuracy because I was "there", is all.  :o)

Sorry but GPL aready has "Reims" in it. Rouen = Reims! :-)

Never the less I would like to see more track and an editor as well.
