GTR2002 sound question

by Igor » Mon, 17 Feb 2003 01:46:20

I found when running GTR2002 the sound is jerky. Especially when breaking
and changing gears from high to low.

My MB is Asus A7V266-E with onboard sound (cmi8738/c3dx pci audio device).
OS Windows XP.

What can be the problem?

In F12002 I can feel it but less.

Thanks in advance,
    Igor

Actually you might try to turn down your sound cards hardware acceleration
in your sound cards "Sound and Audio devices properties"  in control
panel/sound MM applet.

Have you updated the mod to v1.2?  The tweeked some of the NGT
carsounds.(and a smaller tweek to some of the GT cars)  It sounds like you
have a problem that is bigger than the mod tho...if you hear it in F1 2002,
then it's carrying over to the mod.  The ONBOARD sound is probably the
culprit.  I would first try the suggestion to turn down sound acceleration,
and if that doesn't work, see if you can beg or borrow a fairly recent
soundcard to test with.

Get a real/decent sound card would be the best bet.

I did upgrade to v1.2. I'll try off the hardware acceleration.

With hardware acceleration turned off the F1\GTR2002 would not even start.
What sound card can you recommend?

The two that seem most mentioned here are the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz
and the Soundblaster Audigy2.  THe TBSC is much much cheaper than the
current Audigy2 but sounds very good.  Maybe some other users might chip in
with their preferences.
