Get rid of clipped sounds and engine vibration FFB and GTR2002 will be PERFECT!!

Man, what an awesome effort by all involved.

I have a high-end audio set-up attached to my computer and I find the
"clipped" engine sounds incredibly grating.  I understand the effect the
developers were going for, but hopefully someone will release a set of
"normal" engine sounds.

I also hate the constant engine vibration FFB as it detracts from the real
road surface vibration necessary to control these beasts!  I have tried
fiddling with the .PLR file, but can't seem to eliminate just that effect.
Again, I am sure this info. will come with time.

Other than these two quibbles, this is a release well worth full retail
price.  I donated my 10 pounds even before I was able to download and
install because I knew the people involved in this project would only
release a high quality project.  I would pay for a Papy open wheel sim in
advance, too, if that were an option :(

Did you by any chance see my latest reply to you in the other thread
about GTR 2002 FFB?  I posted it about the same time that you posted
this message.  Please try the suggestion I made there and let me know if
it works.

What kind of wheel do you have?  With my old LWFFGP I had to tweak the
hell out of it to get decent behavior without vibration or oscillation,
but with the Momo Racing wheel I just bought I was able to get it to
feel right just using the menus.  I have the force slider set to
negative 70% and the effects strength set to low.  It feels great, I get
no engine vibration and no oscillation on straights.

BTW the only thing you lose by turning down the effects strength is the
"gee whiz" arcadey effects like vibration and maybe rumble strip pull.
You still get the full feel of the road and the aligning torque.  You
ought to at least try it that way once and see how it compares.

FFB solved!  Thanks!!!!!!!!!

By the way, I like things like the pull over the curbs.  I just don't like
forces that are unrelated to the road surface that are sort of turned on and
off like a switch.  Rally games are the worst for this...having a
pre-programmed force for each major surface for example.  Now am I driving
on gravel, so I get the generic gravel force constantly playing through my
wheel so I can't feel the damned road or what the car is doing!

You don't have any updated sound files by any chance do you? :)

Nope, sorry.  Not sure how much people are going to be able to do with
the sound.  Even with the original game, I get this *** phase shifting
effect at certain rpms.  Don't know if it's the engine or my sound card
(SB Live) but I don't care for it much.

That's supposed to be in there...it's like a throttle induced intake sound.
Quite well done I thought--if only the sounds themselves weren't purposely
distorted.
