I am considering upgrading to Win XP, I could never get GPL to run properly
when I tried it on Win2K, so went to back Win98SE. Has anyone tried GPL on
WinXP ?. Any pro's or con's, comments?
Thanks

I run GPL just fine on my system but it took me a bit to find sound drivers
that would work.

T-bird 1.33
256mb ram
XP ver 2526
Soundblaster Live
Logitech WFF wheel

Thanks, I have a SB Live as well, which drivers did you have to use, and
where did you get them please.

Thanks

Ed,
I just went through this last week and found an SBlive fix for XP with a
google search, follow instructions.

<snip>
First, download the driver "SB51_W2K.exe":
http://www.europe.creative.com/support/drivers/latest.asp

NOTE: You can use this driver for any version of the SoundBlaster Live
sound card. (Value, MP3, 5.1, etc.)

  1.. Make new folder on c: drive and name it "sblive".
  2.. Save SB51_W2K.exe in the sblive folder run it to decompress the
files (this won't start the installation yet).
  3.. In a start/run box type - c:\sblive\sbl51.exe /w <-- the "/w"
switch is very IMPORTANT !!! It asks which files should be overwritten
in case of a version conflict.
  4.. When prompted to replace devldr32.exe with an older version click
"NO".
  5.. Replace ANY other files with their older versions (click "YES").
  6.. You should now have crackle free sound!

The above driver also contains the Mixer and AudioHQ. They work
perfectly now!
<snip>

This fixed my sound and FF problems but still trying to get glide to work in
XP :-P
