I've just bought F1 2001, updated it with the patch..
the problem is that there is no self centering on the wheel at any speed
other than in the pits!
btw, i have checked the box in the advanced options of the controller

athlon 1333
256 mb ram
ge force 2 pro
 windoze xp
logitech formula force gp

any clues?

Do a search in here or on "Google" for Pat Dotsons advanced FF settings..
They work great.

You need to set the force feedback strength to a negative number.  You
will then find the steering wheel turning the wrong way if you use pit
assistance, so you may want to turn that off.  However outside of that
it will function correctly if you do this.  Why you need to do this when
I have never seen it in any other sim is beyond me, but it works.

Me too.  Feels like at center, it's teetering on a cliff...

In fact, I don't feel much in the way of FF effects at all on my Momo wheel.

I have it too, and it's too annoying...

It's not that it lacks centering.  It's that it feels like it's _avoiding_
centering.  Hard to explain.   But, it IS very annoying.
