come to realize the AI have invicable traction...
I've toyed with the setups...
I've gotten a 201.300 mph qual time once.. regualrly get 200's... I've
got a few 202 laps in drafting in races... I'll just metain
Alabama/Taladega for now.
my race car is setup to make the tires last... VERY HARD to do..
I take weight off the front just enough to wear both tires out by lap
21-22.. 3.10 gears will let you last 22-23 laps full out.. set my wedge
to take more weight off of right side much as possable...
I ease into the corners, stay on the insdie as much as I can in
corners... sometimes I'll let it ride up some to bleed speed and save
the tires... I've tried everything...
by lap 18-19 I can't even stay in the inside at full speed.. the
Computer AI is perfect.. they run full throddle all the way to 20-22
laps, and thier tires NEVER wear out...
I even set all the computer AI car to 1/4 or the traction they
already had.. seemed to help some.
The sim is much better than the other nascar sims... I mean I got
Nascar99 and the new cars are faster... I've got a 198 mph lap at
Taladgea.. and wo restritor plate I got a 213.117 mph ... much faster
than NL... Thoer old 426 Hemis actually had more power.. but at a heavy
3900 lbs (compared to todays 3400 lbs), ***bias ply tires, they
couldn't comepare into todays nascar..and even the mighty superbird and
Daytona isn't as Areodynamic as the newer cars of the 80's and 90's...
So I thiink those old heavy big block cars did pretty good with what
they had to deal with.. heck the new cars are not really nothing like
production cars...
They didn't need $400,000 set of heads to make 700 hp.. they had
original frames and were just modified production cars.. they were the
fastest hopped production cars ever..
Still with th AI could be tweeked to less than "God" mode for thier
tires.
