Hi!
Please, how can I apply the patch 1.1 on my cracked GPL.exe?
I only found the 1.1 crack for the spanish version.
Help!

copy GPL.EXE from the CD, if you don't have the CD you better get out and
buy the game

Why do you need a crack for GPL? Buy the game, do a full install, and
there's no need for the CD. Most Sierra published games do not require a CD
if you do a full install. I only wish other companies would follow suit.

If you own the UK version of GPL you must have the cd in the drive
before you can play. This is quite annoying. I think he means the
'no-cd crack'. After applying this crack you don't have to insert the
cd anymore. 3 days after the 1.1 patch came out, the 1.1 no-cd patch
came out, and I immediately installed this. Nothing wrong with that I
believe.

How about - (Re)install GPL 1.0 from (legally purchased) game CD. Apply
1.1 patch as directed.

And I'm supposed to know where you're from? You never said you were from
Europe, did you? Maybe if you give all the pertinent information about what
you're requesting and who you are, you wouldn't get such a response.

Tim,

I see where you got your name from. :)

You posted in response to my post, bashing me for not being "educated" about
the different versions of GPL. However, the original poster, who wanted to
know about a CD crack, did not say where he was from. I figured he was from
the States, and thus my comment to him. Could he not have said-- "Hi, I'm
from France. Over here we need the CD to play GPL. Anyone know where I can
get a crack so I don't have to insert the CD?"? That would've solved in,
pretty much, eh? One would think that if something is different, and that
the reason it is different is because the person lives in Europe, that that
person would disclose such essential information in order that the post
could be understood. I really thought it was someone who had a pirated
version of the game or something.

Well, it doesn't matter, and there is certainly no reason to scream about
it. Quite a touchy fellow, are you? :)

E-mail top level domains 101:

.it stands for Italy, which happens to be in Europe.

.uk stands for United Kingdom, which also happens to be in Europe
(although some Brits wouldn't agree. :)

There were enough clues as to where people are located.

AFAIK it isn't illegal. But I don't think it is wise announcing it in
here. Remember, Papyrus provide us with great support in this
public newgroup. I know I wouldn't like it if I was Papyrus.....

So, ask yourself, "Is this a smart move?"....

Well, I wondered about this. Why did they put the cd protection only
on the UK version? It's very irritating that you must put the cd in
the drive everytime you want to drive.
I can't think for one reason why they would be against the no-cd
patch.
But you're right, don't want to offend Papyrus in any way, so I won't
post it.
Still curious what their reason for a UK cd-protection could be
however....
