Well, I do. :) Some addresses don't give clues (aol.com might be
anywhere; *.net is also inconclusive), but I'm always interested in
figuring out where my correspondents are located. To know this often
helps understanding.
Sure. What I disliked about Alan's response was the authoritative
statement that "there's no need for the CD" if you have the full
version installed (not true unless you have the US version), coupled
with the implicit claim in the next posting that he had no chance to
figure out what continent the messages in question came from. So I
tried to indicate how one can easily determine the poster's location.
But it's no big deal anyway.
I agree wholeheartedly.
