Good for you!  Unlike some, I wouldn't put someone down for trying &
doing their best in a competition.

True, it's a horse you have beaten into the ground.  But you've never
made it *clear* at all.  Like many have tried to get across to you,
there is no difference between hotlapping a particular sim for three
years & running the same Saturday night events for years & years at your
local shorttrack in Real Life.

There is no difference at all.  In each scenario you have 2 drivers who
are pitting their skills against each other on the same circuit.  Each
pair of drivers is equally bound by the
same surrounding conditions as their counterpart.  In that way, there is
no difference whatsoever.  But deep down you know that...

Because you're much more civilized on alt.pets.birds, etc.  Had you
always been like that here, I believe the same would apply.  As they
say, what goes around comes around.  :-)  Your reputation precedes you.

You've said that many times.  What Eldred is asking is WHY you assert
that point.  It doesn't matter to you that RS has much more F1 seat time
than does JPM, *why* does it differ in sims??

Four months?  You've been at this little game of yours for years.

Want to do some online F1 2001?  I haven't tried multiplayer
yet.

Apparently not! Could someone fill me in briefly on the latest Sim news
(NOT the latest flame news...)? Did the West Brothers ever complete
their Magnum Opie? Did Skip Barber Racing -- touted to be the most
accurate sim ever produced in this particular galactic cluster -- ever
get released? Has SoS 1937 ever redeemed itself?

I'm all ears...

Thanks

Greetings, Goy! Has a lack of NSS (New Sim Stimulus) engendered this
particular thread, or is it just the same old same old?

No.. still in progress.. we think.

No, major disappointment.. really looked forward to this one, then it
disappeared without any info why or how.

According to Bodin: yes
According to the rest of the world: no.
(Note: this was a joke, Bodin actually found a way to make Sos37 a bit
more playable..)
But Bodin is working '30s cars addon for Nascar Heat, including new
physics, which looks very promising.

For the rest, after 3 years, GPL is still king..
unfortunately I might add.
Last week the big news was announced though:
GPL2 is in the works :D

Still in the works.  :-)

Nope.  Disappeared into the trashbins of Promising Software.  >:-(

From what I hear, use of CTFJ can improve controller handling to the
point it makes it palatable.  Second hand word... I don't own it
myself.  Also, Bodin is working on a SoS37 mod for NASCAR Heat.

Well, some people are turning out NHeat mods left and right, which seems
to be the most promising thing we have right now, if you're not a big F1
fan that is, in which case there may or may not be a half decent sim out
now, other than that, GPL I guess :-)

Who would have thought that NHeat would be the sim to keep us going
while waiting for the next big thing, scary thought really :-), but
initial impression on such work as the DTM mod are all favorable, to the
point where I'm tempted to rummage through old boxes, still filled with
stuff from when I moved house this summer, to dig out my NHeat CD and
give them a try, the TPTCC league will be running a test season with the
DTM mod now, after being faithful to Papy for a number of years, that
has to count for *something*

As for the crowd here, it's pretty much the same, some of the old faces,
like Bruce Kennewell, is gone though, which is kinda sad, nothing
against the new guys dropping in on "us", but I do miss some of the old
timers in here

Speaking of which, if anyone of you guys out there is still in contact
with ole Bruce, tell him I said hi, lost his e-mail addy a long time
ago, miss the old geezer, don't tell him I said that though or he'll get
som funny ideas about people actually liking him or something :-)

Uh, I'm not that desperate to feel young again :-)

Not that I'm all that old in the first place, just feels like it right
now, but yeah, that's the basic idea, but you have to lose the "wanna"
bit...:-)
