I was mucking about with the environment settings in my SBLive options
this afternoon. Then I went to have a championship race at Rouen. I got
in the car and drove out onto the track. Uh-oh. This feels weird. The
graphics looked like they were speeded up and the car was going faster.
Car response was really quick. The frame rate was max 30-31 fps, I
checked that. Then I did what I thought was a reasonably quick lap. Only
2.02. This ain't right. There was still 8 or 9 minutes left in the
session so I timed the countdown clock. One minute on the countdown
clock was only 47 seconds on my stopwatch. I exited the game (sim) and
timed my computer's clock. 1 min = 1 min. No problem. I compared the
2.02 replay in Spygirl with a 1.58 lap I had done and, indeed, my 2.02
lap was 4 seconds slower. Went back into the game (sim) and everything
was back to normal.
I tell you, it was freaky (no offense to any freaks out there). You know
how, with the 1.01 patch, the screen used to speed up, well, it was sort
of like that. Zoooom. Now that I think of it, I should have take it for
a spin around Talladega. Zooooommmmm!!!
