slowing down ai in gpl ?

by Mark » Mon, 11 Oct 1999 04:00:00

Is there a way to slow down the computer cars in gpl. I'm using the official
patched version of the game - 1.1003 or something. On the unpatched version
i used to use a progam called aitw103 which seemed to work but i tried it
with the patched game and no luck. The game seemed ok with the original
carset but when i loaded a 67 carset from the web using gpl season all th
cars seem to run much faster all below 1.31 at monza. Any help would be
great.
thanks

Well Iv'e had the same "problem".
Kari's tweaker spoiled me for sure.
Maybe it's time to get an answer to this.

A reasonably simple workaround for now is to edit a line in the
gpl_ai.ini file - right near the top:-

base_gearshift_hiatus = N.00000

The higher N is then the longer the AI takes to change gear.  They'll
still be quick through the turns but, if set high enough, you can get
'em while they fumble around for gears on the straights.
