Everyone should check out the early info about the new Logitech wheel over
at High Gear.

Wonder if/how it compares to the Act-Labs Force RS?

I'm sure you've noticed how it looks almost identical to the old LWFF wheel.
Either they wanted to use all the old LWFF parts they still had or they
didn't have the money to design something new.  Either way the pedals still
press down instead of forward, and they still look to have very little
travel.

I wouldn't buy one.

...unless you are goin to use it with different pedals that is.

Exactly - I'm already using CH Pedals, and my existing LWFF is approaching 2
years old.  For the asking price, I'm definitely interested in picking the
new wheel up.  It would undoubtedly make for a good combination with the new
Act-Labs pedals and shifter.

I love my old LWFF wheel. I do use trustmaster pedals with it though. I
would like to say that I am real disappointed with Logitech. If you need a
part on the old wheel, forget it. They do not even have pots. It would take
a lot for me to buy another wheel from them with that kind of support.

I have ordered one already, costing 413 AUD. I also have a GPL shifter
and have ordered the act-lab pedals.

I agree that the pedals that come with it are crap, so maybe I will
hook them up to my old LWFF (which currently have T2 pedals) and
perhaps sell it (after I make some new cables for the pulleys).

Yep, I'm using a similar setup myself, using the wheel from a Guillemot
Ferrari and the pedals from the MS Precision Racing Wheel *but* the huge
disadvantage to this is that it only works with GPL.  Almost every other
game has a controller setup so bad that it can't cope when the pedals aren't
connected to the wheel.  Which means I can't play F1RC and GP500, and SBK
2001 has no force-feedback (for some strange reason).

I'm still looking for the holy grail, a wheel/pedal set with a nice wheel,
good FF, no slowdown, durable pedals with plenty of travel (that press
forward), and decent driver software (ie a laucher so I don't have to
constantly change the settings every time I want to run a game).

The MOMO wheel doesn't qualify, so I hope Guillemot have done a good job
with the pedals, shifters and software on their new FF GT.

Simon I went on TM's site to look at the new GT, Is it a scaled down
version of the orignal Guillemot aka Ferrari wheel or no? I'm asking as
when I looked on the sites, the GT was $30 Cheaper then the Original
Ferrari & it did not mention anything about analog paddles on the GT
wheel? Do you know which is the better of the 2 wheels?

Doesn't the limited edition Logi wheel have ball races, better motors and a
270 degree turn as per the Force RS and unlike the red wheeled LWFF?

Andi.
