New wheel from Logitech: MOMO Racing Force

Norek in Norway has a new wheel from Logitech listed, called "Logitech MOMO
Racing Force" in addition to the old "Logitech MOMO Force". It's cheaper
than the old MOMO and it will be available sometime in September. There is
no information on the wheel on Norek's site (www.norek.no) and no reference
to it at Logitech's site.

Anyone know what this is for sure? Could it be better than the current one,
just cheaper to manufacture? Same wheel without leather? Or will it be more
crappy than the current one and the current one will be discontinued?

I'm planning on buying a MOMO but now I wonder if I should wait or not.

Jone.

http://gear.ign.com/articles/360/360503p1.html has more about it. Comes with
a Momo shifter and new pedals, it seems.

I'm sure this would be the rumored wheel that is the same, but without the
leather wrapping.

I fear they may have taken 'other ' cost-cutting mesasures as well, but we
won't know for sure until the specs are posted.

I hope they left the GOOD alone (the whole wheel is great), and chucked the
pedals for something better, say, two-by-fours mounted on truck leaf springs
or something.

You know, from what I read here, it sounds more like an updated GP Force
Wheel than a downgraded Momo.

For $100, I have very serious doubts that the wheel has the same precise
ball-bearing mechanism that the original Momo has.

And there is Logitech history here.

Logitech has NEVER improved a wheel family.  They have always DOWNGRADED
them until they were junk.  And then they came out with a totally new one of
high quality again.
