i'm currently using the Logitech Formula Force GP and its good, but i want
better.  had it for a few years now and i think its about time i upgraded to a
new wheel.  the momo racing fits my budget perfectly (AU$200) and i've heard
good things about it, but will the gain be a huge difference from my current
wheel?

I like the Racing wheel a lot, but I haven't tried any other decent
wheels to be able to make a comparison.

Thanks for posting this, Obake.
I have the same question. I just got the Formula Force GP as a gift
and was thinking about sneaking it past my wife and upgrading to the
Momo Racing.

Haven't used it a whole lot yet, but would be interested in other
opinions on what makes the Momo Racing a better set than the Formula
Force GP.

Main advantages of MOMO Racing over FFGP:
- stronger motor = stronger forces
- 270 degrees of turn (vs. 200 for FFGP)
- designed by MOMO in Italy so it looks a lot cooler!
- in addition of paddle shifter there is also a stick shift (that can
be plugged in on either side of the wheel)
- nicer *** grips
- 2 extra buttons
- bigger sturdier pedals with a special system for carpets so they
won't move away from your feet, guaranteed!
- more solid feel

If you're seriously into driving games it's definitely a worthy
upgrade!

Cheers

One word of warning though......The paddle shifter (particularly the right-hand one) tends to break.  Mine
failed after only about 6 weeks.  Other than that, it's an excellent wheel for the money.  Great FF, if
you ask me.  However, I've since upgraded to the MOMO Force (red housing, black wheel), which is hard to
find these days.  IMHO, that's the model to get, if you can find one.

Yeah, I was a bit worried - it looks relatively flimsy but I've been using
mine for 8 months now and it hasn't looked like breaking.  Just have to
treat it with respect.

My original one broke after three days, but I got it replaced under
warranty. Logitech claim that the one they replaced it with is a
re-engineered design. I've been using it (fairly heavily) for the past 2
weeks now and it has been working faultlessly. Hopefully, this may mean they
have fixed the problems with the original Momo Racing.

I've got a feeling that I must have bought mine after they improved the
design.....

Well, I just traded up to the Momo.
After walking into Best Buy and feeling the difference for myself, it
was a no-brainer. Even without the wheel plugged into anything, it's
obvious that it's just better all around.
The wheel itself is better made, the housing for it seems to be made
of thicker plastic, it has 3 anchors instead of two (I had problems
with the GP slipping).
I'll try it out tonight...

I'm glad I'm not the only one that does that. :-)

It's east to sneak things like video cards, memory and hard drives by her,
it's just those wheels and 21" monitors and 5.1 surround speakers she seems
to notice.

I used mine for six before the left paddle starting acting up.  It'd
sometimes either not shift or double trigger.  No problem though.  I cut
four pieces off a thick *** band (the kind wrapped around the newspaper)
and used double-sided tape to attach two to each paddle as a cushion between
the paddles and the housing.  It feels a bit weird at first, but after
awhile it's not too bad (just not quite as positive a click).  Works
beautifully.  Just make sure the pieces are long enough to stick out a fair
amount.  Otherwise, they might creep in and get lost.
