lower sample rate), "scratchy" sound and more pitch quantization - in GPL
with DirectX 7.0a? The difference to DirectX 6.1 is easy to hear when using
engine sounds with lots of treble.
The problem isn't always present: After viewing a replay it is sometimes
possible to get normal sound, but as soon as the engine rpm goes below
certain limit, GPL (or DirectX 7.0a) switches back to low quality sound.
I have a Diamond MX300 (Diamond's own drivers or latest refence drivers by
Aureal) and Win98. Previously I have stayed with DirectX 6.1, but since it
was disk formatting time anyway, I gave DirectX 7.0a another try. Thanks for
any help.
