I am very surprised, but I gained 3 - 10 fps in N4 after upgrading DX 7.0a
to 8.0a.  A couple of days ago, I gained an equal amount by installing the
Detonator 3 drivers (I had Detonator 2 series before that).  N4 is running
quite nicely now compared to the initial install period.  Hopefully a
substantial patch will be out soon for the AI mess and player damage.

Question for all...............

I have a 3D Prophet II MX (GeForce 2 MX) dual display. Should I be
running DX7 or DX8? I did NOT install DX8 during N4 install. Rest of
system...........

Thanks,

Don't install the DX8 from the game.  Go to microsoft.com and install the
DX8a update from there.  I have heard the this is the way to go.  I am
running DX8a on Windows 2000 with no problem.  /TomH
