SODA and IRC Problems

Hey guys,

I usually just lurk but I have had some problems recently.  I was hoping
someone else has had the same and can give me some tips.

SODA
I can't get my sidewinder to recognize properly. I have it setup
properly in Win95 (having done tech support, I try to avoiding whining,
but I have to say, "it works in all my other games").  In SODA, it looks
like it sees a joystick 2 and when I try to calibrate the joystick it
doesn't recognize the buttons.

VIE (Europress) Int'l Network Q RAC Rally Championship
Some really weird graphical problems at startup have made this game
unplayable.  I can actually hit return through all the menu as they
flash in offset quadrants on the screen, but can't really see the
options. Has anyone seen this problem as well.

S3 Virge (tried with both Virge and DDraw drivers)
with ATI Monster 3D

I think with games like Soda and many Euro releases, you have to assign
the keys to unused keys other than the defaults and THEN assign them to your
joystick.  Goodluck

I had this problem with the demo and a Rendition card.
The menu's were working, but it was very hard to tell what was going
on. I bought the full version, and it never exhibited the problem.

Don't know if you've tried this or not, but here is what I'd try.
Run the game using the Restart In MSDOS Mode, not from a DOS window or
right from the desktop (don't know if you are already doing this...)

Get the newest version of SciTech's Display Doctor shareware.
Before the Rendition card's drivers were mature, I had a lot of weird
display problems that were fixed by a DOS TSR.
Maybe the SciTech software can do the same for you.
UniVbe is included on the NASCAR2 CD if you have that.

Good luck!
