I have the same likes and dislikes as everyone else has
about SODA. I would love to see it with better graphics
and sound.

I don't think that Software Allies and/or Papyrus has plans for a sequel. I
think if you make a little research on dejanews.com about Soda and Steven
Travers (who posted here on r.a.s.), you will see a confirmation about this.
The simulation is great, but I seriously doubt there is a serious market for
this.

>Agreed! They could update it by getting the license from Mickey Thompson

That they then cancelled :P

I think it's a little different.. everybody knows that GPL was somehow a R&D
project for the new game engine. Soda, even if it's a great product,
seriously had a little market because it's a serious simulator (even with
arcade-style graphics). Papyrus knew that GPL wouldn't sell much (as it's
not really for the mass market).
Of course Im sure we would all love one (expand it to the Baja1000 or even
the Paris-Dakar Rally). But the Baja1000 project that was done by a company
was shut down also btw. I don't think it can be a good seller. For us
*** simracers, probably yes, but not the mass market. IMHO
