Go here http://jasonwoods.tk/ to the "movies, other movies" page, and
download the "In a Blur" movie for a look at Grand Prix Legends. There are
some other good GPL movies on the same page. It's a great racing
simulation...challenging but very rewarding to learn. Most people think
it's one of the best, next to GTR 2002. A huge list of GPL resources is
here: http://hotgrids.racesimcentral.com/
This is from the box description:
Overview
Known as the most dangerous year of racing, the 1967 season affords the best
showcase for Papyrus' rebuilt physics model. With fast and unstable cars and
perilous tracks devoid of safety measures, Grand Prix Legends offers the
most extreme and realistic racing experience ever for the PC. Completely
redesigned 3D physics model, which allows cars to catch air and interact
realistically with the road and surrounding area like never before.
Features
Grand Prix Legends uses Papyrus Enhanced Artificial Intelligence, and is the
first Papyrus product to offer native 3dfx and Rendition support. By
featuring the cars, tracks and drivers from the 1967 season, Grand Prix
Legends finds the narrow window of time when racing was at its most risky
and fantastic. Includes famous drivers, including Jack Brabham and Jim
Clark, and teams like Ferrari, Lotus, Brabham and BRM.
www.gogamer.com has GPL in stock.

I prefer Race1530's description ;-)

Plenty of links there to buying the game. Try to get the original boxed
version rather than the dvd-style rerelease.

I think I've said this before but if you do a google search for "gpl"
(without the quotes) the first relevant hit is 8th out of about 2,170,000.
Considering the 'other' gpl that's pretty good going ;-)

Why do you say that about the dvd style re-release, is it not the same. I
only ask because I was thinking of getting a second copy (I've had the
original since about 1998) so that my son can run it and we can have races
together.
Thanks

There's no real difference with gpl itself, and with the re-release you get
the patches on the CD, which saves a bit of hassle.
But the original boxed version has the printed manuals. They're alot easier
to read away from the computer than pdfs ;-)
No other reason really I guess.

Never argue with an idiot. He brings you down to his level, then beats you
with experience...
Remove SPAM-OFF to reply.
Apparently, Senna used to do that too. In good company there, Eldred.
My particular oversight is blinking... have to remind myself to do it in
longer races or I mess up my eyes.
