GPL Pit Board Question or am I the "dummy"?

by LaZb0 » Sat, 22 May 1999 04:00:00

Does anyone know why the pit board is not readable? All I ever see is a
black square with red letters that says "Dummy Pitboard Texture". Any help
would be appreciated.

Cheers, Kent

Before we answer, please submit your lap times and usage of Shift/R :)

Where did you purchase your copy of the game, and what is the version
number in the lower right corner of the screen when you first start the
game?

I remember the Matrox D3D patch displaying this...

Richard, now using a Voodoo 2.

I think its something to do with the video card - on my Matrox Millenium
G200 with Matrox's GPL patch (which needs a LOT of work, Matrox...), that's
all it will show.  On my other PC, with a 4MB Rendition card, the game is
much faster, and the pitboard works.

Hmm, sounds like a warez beta copy has surfaced!

Heh, heh... Ok, My best time at the Glen is 1:12.39 in the Ferrari. This is
with a joystick. No wheel... yet.8^)
Thanks very much to the group for the answer. I am using a G200 so that beta
patch must be the culprit. Well, I'll just have to hurry and get a Voodoo2
or maybe even a Voodoo3 *and* a wheel/pedal setup. But, meanwhile I love
this game!!! Maybe after I get a little faster- only had this thing two
weeks- I'll try online. I know I need to get my framerate up first though.
Thanks again.

Oh and yes, I confess that I do on occasion use Shift/R...<grin>

Cheers,
Kent Hosterman

Yup,
Could it be the GPL1.1 beta?

KENT, DO YOU HAVE FF?

Jens
