rec.autos.simulators

Hello,  I just re-installed windows XP.  I re installed my Nascar 2003 and
the patch, but when I try to race online I cannot connect.  I go to
Multiplayer, Race Sierra, Login, I use my name and password.  I even tried
to create another account without any luck.  I see Message of the day,
translating host addresses, checking for valid game versions, OK.  Then it
goes to Found Authentication servers. Logging in. I usually get a long pause
and then I see WS_Timedout:Authentication failed or Bad community.  Any idea
what this is ?  I tried with firewall on and off.with the same results.

Servers just could be down.

Having the same problem here............I formatted and reinstalled NR2003
thiking I had screwed something up in my system but still can not play
online.....So it must be that the servers are down..........Odd
though...Iwas playing last night and logged out to do something else for a
minute and about 15 min. later I could not log back in.

Yup, it's either just a glitch or they're shutting us down with no
warning....

Not "no warning" but maybe the timing of this and OLR removing all "free"
accounts are too much of a coincidence perhaps?  :P
