Yes, its mostly not appreciated by the very people who wish to use
their own military to take by force what we are defending. China
doesn't appreciate us being there for Taiwan, but what do our friends
the Taiwanese think about it?

Install a regime? In Japan? We "installed" democracy which has been
functioning effectively with the full support of the Japanese people
