I swear, papy should make a game to compete with gran turismo, but with N4
physics... market it well and it will sell billions of copies. Imagine
racing all kinds of cars against each other online. I dont want another
nascar sim and there's not much hope for cart...... so come on papy, do it.

Do a search for WSC(World Sports Cars), it should be what you're looking
for.  There's a lot of debate about whether or not it's vaporware but I bet
Papy won't even think about making a Sportscar sim until they know the fate
of WSC.  I'm really surprised Papy didn't think of it first though.  I doubt
any publishers would pay for a WSC development team if Papy already had a
sportscar sim on the market.  Best guess about its release date is mid to
late 2002, but that's just MHO, could be sooner or later.

How do we know the physics are any good, We have heard allot about this for
the last year and seen a few movies. But I can think of quite a few racing
titles that didn't live up to their hype. I also would love to see papy make
an attempt at this also.

Well, by sports cars, I meant street-legal cars.

How many years have we been waiting for WSC...?

With Gran Tourismo 3 available, why waste resources on that for a PC?
There are close to half a dozen console titles similar to GT3 now...Some
even have damage.
I would like to see more historical titles, like Can Am    and hopefully
WSC will be the one where we can REALLY race endurance races with teammates
in the same car...That would be cool...24hour race with 4 or 5 co drivers to
run the same car along with dozens of other online competitors...
(I can dream can't I?)

I'd buy the game you suggest in a second.
The closest the PC has come is Viper and Porsche Unleashed, both of
which I still play regularly.

I'll buy WSC, but admit I like the "street racer" type titles.
As far as the "buy a consol suggestion", I'm not about to buy a PS2,
steering wheel, and some kind of desk so I can use it (and can't leave
sitting out in the living room) for one game.

I'd like to see it.

Really, if there was a way to use the physics engine but create new vehicles
and environments easily, that would solve the problem.

Of course, nobody's done it yet, so...

Well, as far as the wheel, if you've got a Logitech Force Feedback
USB...you're set. ;)

The only -good- wheel for GT3 on the PS2 is the Logitech 'GT3' wheel - which
is a slightly cheaper version of the Red FF wheel, with blue instead of red.
Works on the PS2, and the PC sees it as a red wheel... ;)

Though I do love GT3...I'd also love a computer version at least as good.
One of the ways I like PC games better is the customizations that come out,
and IMO, the sounds in GT3 are flawed...that, and I'd loooooove online
racing. =)

Because GT3 had only 5 AI cars who are dumb asses that simply run a perfect
race line, whether or not you're there.  GT3 is about driving pretty cars on
pretty tracks by yourself.  There is no racing, just avoiding brain dead AI.
I loved the graphics but was bored racing alone after about 2 days.

I have high hopes for Toca 3 (forget the actual title) which is a SCGT type
game using the next generation of the outstanding AI from Jarrett & Labonte
Racing (PSOne believe it or not).  It is career based sports car racing on
real tracks against a full field of cars.  It will be on the PS2, XBOX and
PC (pretty sure about the PC).

I'm tired of waiting for WSC after a few years.  I just want to drive it!
I'm worried it won't happen.  Didn't they just lose Empire as their
publisher?  I hope to see WSC next year, but I'm not holding my breath.  At
least with codemaster and Toca 3, we'll probably see it on time Q1 2002.

IMO? No, no...the sounds ARE flawed.  =)  Last i checked, the C5 racecar did
not sound like a silenced V6. hehe...

Yeah, exactly, that's where I find the sounds flawed, all of the V8s.
Sadly, it was all of those four-cylinder buzzbombs they got right...

Though, the street GT40 isn't bad.  Haven't snagged the race one yet.  Too
bad it has NO BRAKES. =P
