I've read a few references about a change to the settings to enable
'realistic' physics settings. What web sites should I be visiting to
find information on this and other F12K2 related subject?

Are there any new tracks and/or patches available?

Look in the save directory for the file with your player name and the
extension .plr.  Open that up in a text editor and look for a line that
says something about half rate physics.  Change the 1 in that line to a
zero.
