F1 2002 "hidden high fidelity physics mode"...

Hi All,

I noticed the following in the IGN review of F1 2002
(http://www.racesimcentral.net/): "For this version, we've
gotten ridiculously detailed telemetry, several more setup options, a
_hidden high fidelity physics model_ which can be enabled with a tweak to a
configuration file..."

I was wondering if anyone knew what that tweak was? The review doesn't say
anthing further about it.

Thanks!
John Francis

If you look in the save folder then the folder with your playername, you
should see a file with a plr extension. eg joebloggs.plr

open this file in notepad and look for the line below

Half Rate="1" // 0 = super-high physics rate, 1 = normal

change it to this

Half Rate="1" // 0 = super-high physics rate, 1 = normal

thats all there is to the physics option

Does this 'hifi-mode' cause your processor 'hic up'? How power hungry it is?

Hi All,

I set it even though Trevor said it was incorrect. I noticed no difference,
but then I'm completely ham fisted. F1 2002 is completely smooth on my
Athlon 1900 + Geforce4 ti4600, no matter what the resolution or color depth
(FSAA brings it to its knees though).

The correct setting is below, i said it was 1 in my earlier post, I tend to
agree with you that I cant reall see a great deal of difference apart from
the car seems a bit livlier when contacting the kerbs.

Half Rate="0" // 0 = super-high physics rate, 1 = normal
