Wheel & Joystick port adaptor?

by Nathan Wo » Tue, 17 Feb 1998 04:00:00

G'day,

I will be getting my GP1 in a week or so, and I wondered if there is
some sort of adaptor to allow me to plug in both my joystick and wheel
to the gameport (AWE64), with some kind of "switch" which selects one
or the other......is there such a thing? Or can I simply use a double
adaptor and plugin both....will it cause any conflicts?
I dont fancy having to crawl under my desk to detach or attach my
wheel and joystick depending on the game I want to play.

Email replies are fine...
Cheers

Yes, you can get a switch box for your gameport.  As far as I know, there is
only one on the market and it is called a JOYSWITCH.  It lets you plug in up to
four joysticks and two pedal sets to one gameport.  I have seen them at
Egghead, or you can order direct from the company.  Just do a search on
JOYSWITCH and you should be able to find their home site that way.  They cost
about $30.  Hope this helps.

There are others...but stick with the JOYSWITCH.  I bought a real
slick looking one that would not work well.  I think it had to much
resistance on it lines.  The Joyswitch is ugly as all getout but built
very sturdy....and it works.
