Logitech Formula Force pedals?

I have been reading every review and comparison I can find today on FF
wheels.  I am primarily focusing on reviews of the Logitech FF wheel.  I
think it's safe to say that the consensus is the pedals leave a bit to be
desired.  Having never actually seen this wheel combo in person, are you
able to use a different set of pedals with this wheel?  Right now I use the
T2 with CH Pedals, and have absolutely loved these pedals for almost 4 years
now and I am reluctant to part with them.

I'm currently using the Logi FF with T2 pedals and its much better than with
the Logi pedals but...I've been told that the Logi wheel/CH pedals combo is
better.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that I modified my CH Pedals so that they do the
same thing the T2 pedals do.  Accelerate is joystick1 y-axis up and brake is
joystick1 y-axis down, so they work with every driving game I have tried
them on so far.  With them being setup this way, they should still work with
the LWFF right?

Shouldn't be a problem.

Make sure you clean off the sticky bits!

I've used, in turn, Logitech pedals, T2 pedals, CH Propedals and back to
Logitech pedals with my LWFF wheel. After using the modified (stiffer
springs) Logi pedals, both of the others seemed to have TOO much travel,
just personal preference I guess. Anyhoo, the short answer is, yes you can
use other pedals with the LWFF wheel, but this may only be with GPL, which
is the ONLY application on my P.C.

I don't know the T2 pedals, but I use the CH pedals with my LWFF, it's
perfect.

You can only use the ch pedals and the lwff if you plug your ch in a
gameport and your lwff in an usb port, because gpl recognizes more
gameports. afaik no other game does this.
But if you wire your ch pedals directly to you lwff, you can use it in
all games.
If you think you have too much travel with your ch pedal, you can
allways plug something under your pedal to give it less travel.

Be aware that it does not work in every game.

I've got the LWFF and the CHPedals [for a try], and absolute detest the CH
pedals and much prefer the LWFF pedals to them.  However, I prefer my
[unfortunately nonworking at this time] T2 pedals to both!

You're the first one who doesn't like the CH pedals. Interesting, can
you explain what you don't like about them? I found the CH pedals such
a big improvement over the Logitec pedals,  my braking got much more
precise with them.

I dunno, maybe its the set I got.  They seem to not have much more travel,
maybe even less, than the LWFF pedals.  Then, I find the "springs" way too
soft.  However, they work really well in flight sims though.

You really have a weird set of ch pedals then and you should return
them to your store immediately, the ch pedals have much more travel
than the lwff (one guy actually found the ch pedals to have too much
travel). I absolutely don;t find the springs to soft. The original
springs of the lwff are WAY to soft, but you can exchange them for
stiffer springs very easily, that helps a lot.

<shrugs> Perhaps different batches.  But I can definitely tell you a) there
isn't all that much travel in the CH pedals [T2 pedals have far more] and b)
the springs in the CH Pedals are much softer than the LWFF pedals
[especially the brake although by placing the racquetball underneath it it
helps].  Thats just what I've experienced...and nah, I'll keep them for
Falcon4.0. :)

I haven't messed with this at all yet, but how do you get "other" pedals to
work with the LWFF?  I picked up my LWFF last Friday and don't really mind
the pedals that come with it, but was just wondering out of curiousity.

Chris,
After reading your last post I decided to test what you said seeing as I've
got both sets sitting here at my feet <G> . The brake pedals have what feels
like the same travel but the spring on the Logi brake is way to soft. The
gas pedals have close to the same travel and are close to the same but again
the Logi's is too soft. Also I find the Logitech pedals just aren't
comfortable. I never used pedals period until 2 weeks ago when I bought the
Logitech wheel / CH Products pedal combo (on recommendation of friends and
GPL racers ) so this is not a long time CH Pedal bias here. I still haven't
got the hang of them but I am getting better. It's a big difference going
from the paddles on my old GP1 to the CH Pedals.
