Logitech Formula Force GP USB - Pedals woun't work in NFS - HP2 (0/1)

To the experts :-)

I am running NFS Hot Pursuit 2 with a Logitech Formula Force GP USB,
but the game will not recognize the pedals!

For your info - the LFFGP set is running fine with all other games!

I have tried splitting the reported axis, and also combined axis -
both with no luck!

All other buttons and axis are reported (and maps in the control menu)
but the pedals...

Help would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers - TheHooligan

If you are running the latest Logitech Wingman software, try selecting
"combined axis" in the wheel's configuration.

This is what I had to do to get the pedals to work in NFS 2.

NFSHP2 does not support split axis. There are some text files in the
controller subdirectory that look as if they could be edited to enable
different configurations. That could be worth a try ...

I realized that my problem was mainly the "combined axis" - which i
had disabled... I also had to edit a bit in the defaults.ini and
definitions.ini... But now it is working!

Must say that the force feedback sucks bad!!!!!!!!!

Anyway - compared to Colin McRae it does!

Thanx - The Hooligan

what exactly did you edit in the defaults.ini and definitions.ini files?

I deleted all but this... ->

It seemed that NFS was unable to dertermine precisely what kind of
wheel i am running... So i eliminated the other choices :-)

THIS IS MY Default.ini

[joystick 0]
name = Logitech WingMan Formula Force GP USB
InputRight              = axis 1
InputLeft               = axis 0
InputGas                = axis 2
InputBrake              = axis 3

InputHandBrake          = button 5
InputCycleCamera        = key SC_C
InputHorn               = button 3
InputReset              = button 2
InputLookBehind         = button 4
InputShiftUp            = button 1
InputShiftDown          = button 0

InputCallBackUp         = key SC_U
InputCallRoadBlock      = key SC_J
InputCallCopter         = key SC_N
InputLookLeft           = key SC_COMMA
InputLookRight          = key SC_PERIOD
InputGear_Reverse       =.key SC_MINUS
InputGear_Neutral       = key SC_O
InputGear_1             = key SC_1
InputGear_2             = key SC_2
InputGear_3             = key SC_3
InputGear_4             = key SC_4
InputGear_5             = key SC_5
InputGear_6             = key SC_6

AND THIS IS MY Definitions.ini

[joystick 0]

button0 = kTxtLeftPaddle
button1 = kTxtRightPaddle
button2 = kTxtButton3
button3 = kTxtButton4
button4 = kTxtButton5
button5 = kTxtButton6

axis0   = 0,left,127,0,kTxtWheelLeft
axis1   = 0,right,127,255,kTxtWheelRight

microsoft FF wheel gameport with Windows XP

file default.ini
[joystick (x)]
name = Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback Wheel
InputRight = axis 1
InputLeft = axis 0
InputGas = axis 2
InputBrake = axis 3
...

definition.ini :
[joystick (x)]
axis0 = 0,left,127,0,kTxtWheelLeft
axis1 = 0,right,127,255,kTxtWheelRight
axis2 = 1,up,255,0,kTxtGasPedal
axis3 = 6,down,255,0,kTxtBrakePedal

ps: (x) means last number in file list (like season.ini in GPL ;-) and
"name" must match exactly the reported name in joystick configuration
pannel.

but really, it's no GPL.
