HELP: Logitech Wingman Formula Force GP keeps losing itself

by s k y l a » Sun, 09 Sep 2001 00:35:52

When I use this wheel to play games such as Grand Prix 3 and Nascar 4
(these are the only games I've tried), the wheel would work fine until
about 5 minutes into the game when the wheel would just stop working.
I'd have no control of steering nor gas and brakes.

The game itself would still continue, but with no controls. I have
tried recallibrating, updating the games' with official patches,
updating the wheel's drivers, etc.

Still the problem persists. I would appreciate it very much if you
could attend to this problem and help me.

I have had similar but not the same things happen with the original LWFF
wheel.

With mine, in N4, if I have FF on with the settings too high, it would
overheat and I would lose all tension in the wheel.  I had to turn down the
force settings.

Just thought I would throw this out there, maybe they are related.

Hmmm... is the loss of FF temporary (as in a couple of corners) or permanent
until you leave it to cool down?

Jan.

Permanant until I let it cool off.  Sometimes I would pit, try and
recalibrate and it MIGHT come back for very short time.  So I just toned
down the amound of force and it's fine.  To me that is not the proper
solution but it works.

I had a problem with loosing the steering in CMR2 with d3d mode, ok in 3dfx
mode, upgraded the pc & no more problems.  CPU could not keep up, still use
the same Video cards, sound card & wheels.
