F1 2002 : going back to F1 2000

hey
what is going on?

Having spend time racing in F1 2000 with all settings
at max
and winnng against AI set to maximum , I thought it is
time
to upgrade it's graphic and cars to the latest version

so I went out to get the F1 2002 with the latest
weather etc
and newer drivers ,,,,thinking this is the only
benefits
since the tracks are the same......

BUT as soon as you get on the track, everything is
different.
YES, JUST DIFFERENT not BETTER.......
no, they did not learn from exprience at all

the same ***y replay piece of shit is still there.
no slow motion, no fast forward by scale ( like GPL )
Same stupid zoom-in camera angle in replay.
This time they added the tracking view which gives me
a headache just looking them,,,,,,,,sheez
In fact, SBK2001 has such a splendid replay( from
EAgames too )
they should simply just import it.

All the cars setup is wrong, all previous game setting
are not available
YOU CAN'T import them across, ( the files goes in but
not the setting )

WING ANGLES
2000 version has highest is17.5max
2002 version has highest is 50max

SLOW REBOUND
2000 version goes to 15000
2002 version goes to 5000max
( good god, a 30% of previous )

what is going on here ???

Comparing F 2002 to F 2000 is probably NOT in your best interest.   2000
was a rushed  port of SCGT.   ANYTHING and everything should be considered
suspect in the old 2000.   So because things that worked in 2000 don't in
2002, it is NOT a bad thing.  Because the Numbers are different, that in
itself is NOT a bad thing.
Most likely 2000 was a big collection of hacks to approximate the handling
of a F1 car.  THat is why the lowspeed/highspeed grip was all wrong, (just
one of 2000's many failings)  So you should be saying..
YES!  They have changed dang near everything in 2002.  I will be the
first to ask for better multiplayer, and others have critique'd the replay
system as well, but I think the # of people who prefer 2000 vs 2002 would be
you and....

well I'm sure there are some...after all there is still a loyal cadre of
N3 Dega heads who hate N4/N2002 because it pulls left(amoung other
things....)  btw...try dropping a setup from N3 into N2002....  the results
will be just as dismal as your experience moving from  2000(not even CS?) to
2002.   When sims evolve, the setups must change with them...
Surely the setups that worked great for Ferrari in 2000 are barely
recognizable on today's  current version.

There are some simple controls for the replays. I'm not sure if
they're documented, I found them by accident.

When playing a replay  use the arrow keys:

UP - pause the playback, used in conjunction with the swingcam you can
recreate cool Matrix moments.
DOWN - is super slow-mo mode.
LEFT - is rewind
RIGHT - is fast forward

I think the replays are OK - it's just that you can't trim them like you can
in Papy games.

Now you could do a lot with that sentence, I'll put it down to
purposeful irony <g>
